DESCRIPTION The PAM4 RF amplifier is a single input high performance broadband optical modulator driver with very low jitter, 3. 3 V swing, with excellent gain and group delay flatness, matched to 38GHz. In this process, a strong continuous-wave pump laser co-propagates or counter-propagates with the signal in an optical fiber. Energy is transferred from the pump to the signal via phonon. The Marvell Ara PAM4 DSP is a next generation solution for GenAI and cloud datacenter interconnects utilizing pluggable transceivers. Ara features eight 200Gbps/channel PAM4 host electrical interfaces, and an octal 200Gbps/lane PAM4 optical interface with integrated high-swing laser-modulator.
